Customised number plates bring trouble
People displaying customised number plates are risking being stopped at roadside checks set up to catch more serious offenders. The equipment used to read car registration numbers struggle to make sense of plates which have italic letters or logos or background motifs. The offending vehicle is then stopped and the driver can be fined up to 1000 GBP as well as confiscation of the registration number.
